How to find the perfect dress to suit your style....

Writer: Two Hearts Bridal Studio Two Hearts Bridal Studio

Finding the dream gown can be difficult. Whether you've known our perfect dress down to the last sequin or never thought about it before, wedding dress shopping can be one of the most exciting and stressful parts of planning your wedding day.

The dress often needs to fit within the wedding theme and location, it may be a glorious garden party or a grand ballroom affair, and there is a myriad of fabrics and styles to decode from fit-and-flare to organza or tulle.

The options can seem endless, but our wedding dress shopping tips are guaranteed to help you find your perfect gown.

1) Know what suits you

The best place to start is to narrow down the dress styles that flatter your figure. There are so many different styles and cuts of wedding dresses to consider, try picking a dress that will accentuate your favourite features.

Before your dress appointment, look in your wardrobe to see the shapes and styles of dresses that you love wearing on a day-to-day basis. Mirroring this in your wedding dress will ensure you feel comfortable and confident on the big day.

And don't forget to be open with your dress consultant and be guided by their expertise.

2)Choose your style not high fashion

It can be easy to get swept up in the latest trends in bridal magazines or the striking high fashion gowns on Pinterest, but this can often mean you pick a dress that will date in your wedding photos.

Keep it timeless, stay true to what you love and choose a dress that makes you look and feel wonderful rather than trying to fit the latest trends.

3)Consider your wedding style

Before starting the dress search, confirm where your wedding will be located and the atmosphere you'd like on the day. Which season will it be in ? Will it be a formal evening event, a casual summer beach wedding or a winter wedding in a rural setting?

Answering these question will guide your wedding dress shopping and help narrow down your search.

4)Two Dresses

Many brides are now opting to wear multiple dresses on their big day. Whether it's because their wedding ceremony as a traditional affair but the reception is set to be a big party, the wedding is a mix of heritages and ceremony styles, or the bride loves two very different bridal gown styles that they want to showcase.

Rather than trying to make one dress fit into all aspects of your wedding day, maybe try a floor-length gown for ceremony and a shorter, fun dress you can party all night in.

5)Enjoy the experience

Sadly, many brides are disappointed the first time they go wedding dress shopping. Too many options, lots of opinions and dream dresses that don't fit how they were envisaged can all combine to produce a underwhelming experience.

At Two Hearts Bridal Studio we want to make sure you feel pampered and special on this highly-anticipated occasion, just as we were on our wedding days.

Allow yourself plenty of time for shopping, bring along a couple of your closest friends or family members, and don't forget to make a full day out of the occasion by enjoying lunch and drinks afterwards.
